Lord Chaitanya and his associates would render ecstatic kirtan throughout Bengaland this kirtan woul be based on the Raga system. The Raga system is fascinating and could be of immense inspiration to all those interested in Bhajan and Kirtan today.

In this workshop, we will look at the meaning of raga and how it enhances and affects the mook of both kirtan and listener. We will use experiential methods tho explore Raga which will include listening, image making and discussion.
We will also explore the basic structural identity and personality of a raga and its meaning.
We will then follow with a practical introduction to the technicalities of raga, through learning some basic vocal warm ups. We will also explore the structure of raga and Tala(rythmn) and learning a bhajan in one particular Raga.
