After the success of the Global Kartik Kirtan event, in which more than 30 cities of the world took part, it was clear that it should become a tradition. Warm comments from many delegates encouraged us to start planning the next event right after that first endeavor. For the second time with the intention of creating transformation through transcendental sound vibration, unification of the community and our personal prayers, we are all gathering together in our own parts of the world to share Kirtan bliss.
The Global Gaura Kirtan-2009 is taking place in different cities around the world on Saturday, March 7th and Sunday March 8th as an offering to Lord Gauranga. The 7th of March is Ekadasi before His appearance day and another wonderful chance to unify the community in chanting the Holy Name.
The 7th of March (in the US) is also a disappearance day of Sri Madhavendra Puri – a great Vaishnava who was glorified by Lord Chaitanya in the Chaitanya-Charitamrita and called a desire tree. On this day, Shrila Advaita Acharya inaugurated a festival in Shantipur and said whoever participates in this festival will get pure love of God.
This is a very auspicious time to come together to chant and pray for the love of God – the only thing that can bring Peace to the World! So join the global kirtan and chant locally even if for a short while!
Jay Sri Sri Guru and Gauranga!
