On Saturday Nov 8th, the Soho temple graciously welcomed gurukuli’s, psena, and members of the congregation to join in a global 24 hour kirtan event.
The essence of this Global Kirtan event was about activating our international kirtan community in a simultaneous resounding prayer around the globe, with its source from the heart of Vrindavan.
Surrounding the Earth in the transcendental sound vibrations of Kirtan will have a powerful effect amidst the ever disturbing events of the world.
This initiative was presented by the KuliMela Association in a word of mouth, friend to friend communication that activated this global endeavor. It was an amazing show of our international interconnectivity and loving friendships, and here in London the magnificent and energetic participation of young devotee friends, particularly Bimala, Madhava, Jahnavi, and Tulasi as well as many others who were indispensible at each moment such as Nadiya, Rukmini, Casey, Uma, Shari (who sang so wonderfully), Sandipani, Devaki, and many others who made the 24 hours possible. We will load video and music soon.
A special thank you to Erzsébet who incredibly recorded the entire thing and managed the sound system, and to Radhalondonishvara who organized everything at Soho.
Madhava was inexhaustible on the mrdunga and he was still playing at 5:00am when Jahnavi sang the prayers in the temple for Tulasi Maharani.
The event was held during the particularly sacred month of Kartik, and on the auspicious day of Ekadasi, and was a special endeavour for the disappearance day of Srila Gaura Kisore Dasa Babaji.
More than 10 locations were also live streaming to share the participation of the kirtan around the world. More than 250 unique visitors listened to the Soho Kirtan broadcast.

After the success of this endeavour the KMA is now working on another Global Gaura Kirtan leading up to Gaura Purnima (March 7/8, 2009 Gaura Ekadasi & Dwadasi) as well as a huge Mela in LA in the summer of 2009. More information can be found at www.kulimela.com
