I’m planning on being in Europe for around 6 weeks over that period and am keen to do a bit of traveling. Not sure where or when yet. Apparently the Polish Woodstock festival is on the weekend after Kulimela?
What is everyone else doing?
I’m going to try to get more information on Polish Woodstock. Also New Mayapur is interested in visitors!
New Mayapur sounds cool and definately woodstock as I’ve not been yet. Will HH Indradyumna Swami Maharaja be there and lots of devotees? Oh well I’m excited and responding to this but I’ll also look around on the net for more info. Not sure if I can make it but I’m feelin the vibe f’shyo :)
I was just talking recently with Gaura Hari prabhu, Indradyumna Maharaja’s servant, and he was saying that the woodstock festival would be the same weekend as kulimela. However there are still the Polish beach festivals before the kulimela, which I will probably be attending.
Hmmm I would like to hear more information about New Mayapur if anyone has anything. Is Indradyumna Maharaja going to be there?
If you’re interested I know London Rathayatra is June 22nd, with Berlin and Paris rathayatra’s sometime in July. Also there is a beach festival in Rijeka, Croatia sometime mid to late July.
ps: Sita where are planning on visiting in Italy? I’ll be going sometime before kulimela and am trying to figure out where to go now.
I haven’t finalized my plans, but I arrive in Paris July 27 and travel from there to Belgium, after the Mela, I would like to travel S. to Como lake, Milan and Venice, then back to S. France….I would like to squeeze New Mayapur in…...but fly outta Paris August 22…gotta get back to work eventually Aggghhhhhh !!
Oh ok, yea my and some friends were planning on flying to Rome and then traveling up, possibly going Roma-Firenze-Bologna-Milano-Bergamo to the temples. But that would be before kulimela. Anyways here’s a list I compiled of some festivals in Europe.
June 22 London Rathayatra
July 6th Paris Rathayatra
July 12th-July 27th ISKCON Croatia Vaisnava’s summer festival
July 13th Prague Rathayatra
July 20th Budapest Rathayatra
August 1-2nd Polish Woodstock
August 3rd Leicester Rathayatra
August 9th Berlin Rathayatra
August 9th Cardiff Rathayatra
August 10th Birmingham Rathayatra
August 12th-18th Sziget Festival in Hungary
August 16th Leipzig Rathayatra
August 16th Balarama’s Appearence Day
Prague rath, would be AMAZING !!!!! Hmmmm I wish I hadn’t booked my ticket already…..
I fly into Paris, July 27, then travel to Belgium, after which I am driving down to New mayapur with some friends….still would like to visit, Italy after that tho…
radheshyam how do i pay for bus on this website i cant seem to access the page to help me ??? let me know a.s.a.p thank you yamuna devix
I fly in to Brussels on the 27th of July, and out of London on the 4th of September.
I’m trying to make up some rough travel plans so would be keen to know what every one else is planning on doing.
So far I’m thinking of: Kulimela, then head over to the Polish tour for a few days, then Berlin Rathayatra on the 9th, then to the Sziget festival in Hungary on the 12-18th, and from there to Italy, France and over to England. That sound doable?
I’ve never been to Europe so don’t know about travel and distances between places, where the temples are, accomodation and all that stuff.
Any enlightenment would be great! :-)

As far as doability goes that depends on your resources, aka money : ) I’ll be honest and say I’m not an expert on Europe travel as I haven’t been to Europe either, but for the past 2 or 3 months myself and several friends have been planning a euro trip similar to the one you proposed. However we are going before Kulimela.
—-“I’ve never been to Europe so don’t know about travel”
There are three main methods of travel in Europe: Plane, train, or bus.
Plane travel in Europe can actually be very cheap and practical, especially if you’re traveling between major cities. For cheap intra-europe airfares check out ryanair.com, easyjet.com, and skyscanner.net. You should pay attention however to which airport you would be flying into, these airlines are generally cheap because they fly into farther away smaller airports.
For trains in Europe the most popular option seems to be one of the various eurail passes. Google them to get more info, but make sure to weigh the cost of the passes with individual tickets. For train times check out http://www.bahn.de/international/view/en/index.shtml.
I really don’t know much about the bus systems, check out eurolines.com
—-“and distances between places”
Just go to google maps and click on get directions.
—-“where the temples are”
Look at the ISKCON World Address Directory at directory.krishna.com
—-“accommodation and all that stuff”
Well accommodations depend on your preference, contacts, and money. You can probably grab a spot on the floor of the school building for the Polish tour, but otherwise you have to choose between either contacts you know who you can stay with, temples, hostels, or hotels.
Also Italy, France, and England are large countries. Where do you want to go? Personally I would try and plan around contacts or temples to save money.
hey, i have been traveling trough European countries so i would add some more possibilities to check
http://www.germanwings.com/index.en.shtml
maybe also this helps, http://www.ecolines.net/
www.sbb.ch from there you can find “last minute tickets”(its not only Switzerland, there are also Italy, Germany and Austria cities) for trains, what are quite cheap, if you cant find i can help.(ticket shop->trips in Europe->Click&Rail in Europe)
..i cant remember more at moment..i can help to search if anyone needs help.
