Kulimela Event:

Dear prabhus,

All glories to Srila prabhupada and all glories to the Holy Name!

I would like to take this opportunity to express some deep appreciation for the community, locally and globally, for the success which was the Vancouver 24 hour kirtan.

First, in my sleep deprived estimation, it was a screaming success. Overall, the event ran smoothly with a few minor details which were ironed out. We could see Madana mohan’s hand moving in certain ways that showed us how He wanted the event to unfold. Many of us were forced to accept His desire and just “roll with it”.

From the core of my heart, I have deep appreciation for the devotees who stepped up and took many services and claimed them as their own for the success of the yagna:

Surrounding the Earth in the transcendental sound vibrations of Kirtan will have a powerful effect amidst the ever disturbing events of the world.

For Kuli MeLA 2009 I have proposed a presentation currently titled, “Exploring the History of ISKCON’s ‘Gurukula Experiment.’”

The concept is still evolving, but I have a few ideas:

This would be an “interactive” display with photos, video, time lines, highlights, Prabhupada’s quotes and letters about his ideas and intentions for the gurukula, letters and essays from Gurukulis about their memories and experiences, letters and essays from 1st generation people about their memories and experiences related to the gurukulas, letters and essays from the Kuli crowd with their thoughts, memories, appreciations, etc. More as it develops.

Kulimela Australia 2010

07/01/2010 - 13:10
Etc/GMT-7
Mela Type:
Local Mela

Location(s)

Welcome to Australia one and all for 2010.

We are still in the process of deciding between two locations. Govinda Valley, in Sydney. Or New Govardhan, in Eungella in Northern NSW. The jury is still out at to which is the better location.

Also we are not sure when exactly to have it. But rest assured we will have a venue and a date all in good time. Hehe.

The 3 possibilities are;

1) August – Normal Mela Time, (but the Australian winter). Its cheaper for international traveller to get here, but it is also quite cool. Not ideal beach weather and definitely not the best time to see Australia.

2)October – Warmer and not the most expensive time to travel. Good beach weather and long enough before Christmas for everyone to get home to spend the holidays with their families.

Estimated Attendance:
500

Invitation to visit New Mayapur after the Mela

Haribolo,

We would like to ask all those who are thinking of coming down to New Mayapura, France after the Radhadesh Kulimela to let us know when, how many and how long at this email – da.goner@gmail.com – so that we can make necessary arrangements for your stay (or sign up on this page).

This is not a binding contract but more a way for us to have a general idea of how many to expect. There are different possibilities – either renting a room (small room for two person or a big room for 4), camping or staying at homes of gurukulis.

If you have any specific needs this would be the time to let us know. If you are not driving down I can give you details of how to get here by train.
